It has that hallmark Nelson ripe cherry and salted herb aroma I so often look for in regional pinot noirs. Pretty perfume and a touch savoury, let’s say. The palate is slender but packs in dark cherry flavours, more of the salted herbs, a little smokiness and some graphite-like mineral character. It feels sleek and shy, understated and fine. It’s a really, really pleasing wine here.
