Louis Jadot Mercurey Rouge 2019
In Burgundy’s Côte d’Or, where the integrity of the producer is often more important than a renowned appellation or vineyard, Maison Louis Jadot is one of the most trusted and revered wine houses. Jadot’s winemaking team, now led by Technical Director Frédéric Barnier, has maintained a balance of tradition and technology in winemaking that allows Jadot’s wines to express the subtle differences between terroirs that are the essence of fine Burgundy.
Mercurey wine is produced in the communes of Mercurey and Saint-Martin-sous-Montaigu in the Côte Chalonnaise subregion of Burgundy. The red possesses an individual appeal despite obvious parallels with the Côte de Beaune. Typically, it has a penetrating, earthy fruitiness allied to an ample backbone with plenty of grip on the palate. The wines of Mercurey are noted for their spicy cherry notes.
Terrines, pizza, beef steak.
Louis Jadot Mercurey is a deeply coloured, very soft wine that is medium-bodied and fruity yet rich, straightforward in character, and intended for youthful consumption.
