Description

The magnum size not only provides twice the amount of wine as a standard bottle, but it also offers benefits to the aging process of the wine. The larger volume allows for a slower aging process, resulting in a more complex and nuanced flavour profile. The magnum size also provides a striking appearance that can make a statement on any table or in any cellar.

At Christian Moreau, we approach winemaking with respect for the land, a commitment to quality, and a dedication to showcasing the unique character of Chablis. We look forward to continuing to face new challenges and producing exceptional wines for generations to come.

Slightly more apparent wood (though still nicely subtle) is present on the overtly floral-suffused nose where notes of lemongrass, mineral reduction and iodine add breadth. There is impressive volume to the powerful and delineated yet reasonably refined larger-scaled flavours where the texture is akin to sucking on tiny rocks. The balanced bone-dry finish is refreshingly crisp in no small part thanks to the citrus-tinged acidity.

Tasting Profile

Palate
The most famous appellation of Chablis, this Grand Cru has a south exposure and soil from the Kimmeridgian, very rocky with white and dense clays. Our big parcel of 3 ha in one big piece, goes from the bottom of the hill, nearly up to the top, which allows us to divide it into three different parcels (the bottom, the middle and the top). They are always vinified separately but blended all together at the end to make one cuvée. The average age of the vines is 50 to 60 years old.
