Crafted exclusively in extraordinary vintages, sourced from a singular harvest, our D Millésimé champagne showcases a harmonious blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir carefully selected from the finest plots. This exceptional creation undergoes an additional 7 years of maturation, allowing its intricacies to unfurl both on the nose and the palate.
Since its inception, DEVAUX has unveiled a mere seven vintages in the coveted D Collection: 1996, 2000, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, and 2012. The nose of this distinguished champagne is subtle yet invigorating, offering fresh notes of dried and candied fruits, including apricots and citrus. A tapestry of aromatic complexity unfolds, revealing layers of chocolate, blond tobacco, and roasted nuances.
A vivacious mouthfeel, coupled with a juicy impression reminiscent of citrus fruits, imparts a sensation of freshness and creaminess. The lingering finish is marked by an elegant minerality, providing a refined conclusion to this exquisite journey of flavors.
Superbly complex rich, nutty bouquet with meringue, stone fruits, citrus and hazelnut. Very rich, complex palate with length and freshness. Dry finish. All Cote des Bar but there is nothing rustic about the wine. Great flavour and harmony. (Aged a minimum 5 years on lees. 60/40 pinot noir/chardonnay, 10-12% oaked. 40% reserve wines. 7-8 grams/litre dosage).
From the super 2012 vintage, this sees no oak, is an equal split between Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The grapes come from parcels in vineyards at Chouilly & Montgueux. One parcel was planted as far back as 1911, very rare in Champagne. Great intensity hear, an appealing texture, soft clean and fresh. Good acidity running the length. There is complexity and concentration. A hint of honey at the finish, expect this to provide pleasure for at least another decade.
