These vines are almost the estate’s oldest, planted in 1956. The soil has clay, retaining water even in dry summers like 2022. This is quite closed and mineral, with a slightly herbal character. The feel here is one of creamy elegance, with an oyster shell finish.
From vines in the blue clay sector, planted in 1956. Pale colour once again. The bouquet is very classical, faintly reductive with a pure white fruit. Plenty of energy, tightly coiled, with a lifted finish. Very stylish and with fine persistence. Apple and citrus at the finish, I love the aftertaste.
Cool, focused and refined, this balances fruit ripeness with a fine line of acidity and a mineral edge to finish. Not a blockbuster, but very refined and classy. One for relatively early drinking. Possibly better known for its Mont de Milieu, in 2022 the Pinson Montmains runs it close.
