Description

A recent addition to the Dugat-Py portfolio, this prized parcel boasts vines that have gracefully thrived for nearly a century, bestowing a mere four barrels annually. Upholding the cherished tradition of all-selection massale, only the finest Pinot Fin specimens are chosen to perpetuate this legacy. These vineyards are lovingly cultivated, akin to a meticulously tended garden, with horse plowing, the alchemy of in-house biodynamic teas, and a canopy untouched by shears.

The celebrated estate of Dugat-Py, located at the base of the Combe de Lavaux in Gevrey-Chambertin, has been producing world-class wines for decades. While the exterior of the house impresses with its mid-16th-century architecture, it is the aging cellar that is truly spectacular. The cellar, or L'Aumônerie, is essentially a small abbey that was built by the Diocese of Dijon in the 11th century — making it the oldest cellar in Burgundy today.

Review
A wonderfully fresh, cool and pretty nose reflects notes of essence of red cherry and rose petal. I very much like the texture of the refined and tension-filled middleweight flavors that terminate in an inviting, balanced and lingering finale. This is lovely and offers excellent quality for what it is.

Food Pairing

Pinot Noir beautifully complements dishes like seared duck breast, as its delicate red fruit, earthy notes, and balanced acidity harmonize with the succulent, rich flavors of the meat.
