Inama Foscarino Soave Classico DOC 2021
In the 1960s Giuseppe Inama, purchased parcels of old vine garganega on the volcanic soils of Soave Classico. His son Stefano developed the fabulously textural style of the Inama whites, with fermentation in stainless steel and small French oak for garganega and sauvignon blanc. With his sons Matteo, Luca and Alessio, Stefano recognised the untapped potential of near by Colli Berici, for the production of elegant, savoury reds from Bordeaux varieties, (cabernet, merlot and carmenère).
Garganega: this variety was introduced in the Classic area 2,000 years ago by the Romans.
Fermentation takes place in used barriques, large barrels and steel tanks. Prior to racking, batonnage is carried out every 6 weeks for about 6 months. Fining for 6 months in stainless steel vats.
Great ageing potential until 10-15 years.
Veal with tuna sauce, risotto with fish, sushi.
It opens fresh, mineral, deep, with fragrant field flower notes (camomile, elderflower, iris).
On the palate is rich, complex and multilayered with an almond finish. With the passing of time, these notes transform into even more complex aromas of pollens and dried flowers.
