Recognized for its Vouvray but also for its mellowness, Mr. Brédif was a pioneer in the world of winemakers, creating the sparkling Vouvray from the early twentieth century. In 1980, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette took over the torch in true love of wine. Enlightened by quality and tradition, it has given new life to this centuries-old house . Its cellars troglodytes du Domaine, dug in the tufa from the tenth century, are among the most beautiful and largest of the appellation. They contain very rare wines, whose vintages date back to 1874.
Depending on the clay-limestone, siliceous or sandy soils, the exhibitions and the age of the vines, Maison Brédif produces three types of wine: the classic Vouvray, the Marc Brédif Nectar harvested in late harvests during certain exceptional vintages, as well as the White Vine, wine from the vineyards of the same name and exclusive property of the house: this monopoly produces a large dry white wine.
Maison Brédif also produces red and rosé wines in Chinon, including the prestigious cuvée, Chinon Réserve Privée and Chinon Blanc.
