Description

From the most iconic of all Australian producers, Penfolds Club Port is Australia's most loved Tawny noted for its mellowness and consistency of quality. Its a great blend of young barrel matured tawny aged in the Barossa Valley.

For nearly 60 years Penfolds Club has been one of Australia's favourite choices of Tawny. Beginning life as Penfolds Five Star Club Tawny in the 1940s, this wine has grown with the nation. With a rich and established history, Penfolds Club Tawny has been instrumental in shaping what is known today as Penfolds House Style. Whilst the first releases were sourced from a single vintage; 1950, 1953 and 1956, Club Tawny today is crafted as a multi-varietal, multi-vintage blend (mataro, shiraz, grenache), encompassing the Penfolds winemaking philosophy.

A youthful Tawny, Club displays depth and intensity, relying on a wonderful combination of fruit and spirit to provide freshness, weight and a full, flavoursome finish. Matured in seasoned small oak barrels at the Penfolds Kalimna Tany Cellar, in the Barossa Valley, the Club Tawny has a minimum average blended age of three years at the time of bottling. As the cornerstone of Penfolds range of exceptional fortified wines, Club continues to provide a well-balanced Tawny demonstrating a consistency of style and quality.
