The Eastside Road Neighbors wine epitomizes the vibrant essence of the Russian River Valley, renowned for producing wines of exuberance and flair. Bursting with luscious berry and red fruit notes, it captivates the senses from the first pour. Layers of cedar and earthiness provide depth and texture, enhancing its allure. On the palate, a symphony of berry flavors unfolds, complemented by hints of wood spices and a refreshing citrus zest that carries through to the expansive finish.
The Pinot Noir for this blend was sourced from three unique sites along Eastside Road: Calegari Vineyard, Foss Vineyard, and Lewis MacGregor Estate Vineyard.
In 2022, epic drought conditions prevailed, with minimal rainfall until late in the year. Despite initial soil saturation, frost nights and uneven shoot growth affected early development. The cool, unsettled weather during flowering led to variability. Although a freak hailstorm occurred in May, the rest of the season was moderate, with harvest starting on schedule. Success in 2022 was attributed to selective thinning of shoots and fruit, enhancing ripening consistency. Despite challenges, the wines exhibit excellent structure, site specificity, and aging potential, making it a standout vintage.
