A new discovery from Ceretto, the 2018 Barbaresco Gallina reveals a tight, silky fibre with lots of gloss and shine to its fruit. This expression from Gallina, in the village of Neive, reveals some extra ripeness, with black cherry confit and a touch of dark plum. I found that fruit-forward ripeness across much of this vintage in Barbaresco, but in the case of this wine, there is plenty of fibre, structure, and acidity to balance it out.
