This estate has been in the Robert family since 1902. They grow their own vines and the whole Domaine is classified as Grand Cru- Le Mesnil sur Oger The house style is to pick grapes at perfect maturation and to ferment naturally. They choose to block the malolactic fermentation in order to preserve the freshness of the Champagne. The base wine is matured for an extended period in barrels or tanks for around 10 months.
Terre du Mesnil Champagne is a selection of plots of Chardonnay from the "Le Mesnil sur Oger" Terroir. After the tasting of the still wine during spring 2014 the producers decided which plots will be selected for the Vintage 2013.
This divine champagne has a sharp palate complimented by a light creaminess and notes of brioche, leading in to a nice sapid mineral finish.
