Chateau de Meursault Perrieres Meursault 1er Cru 2022
Château de Meursault Perrières Meursault 1er Cru is a sophisticated Chardonnay from one of the most esteemed Premier Cru vineyards in the Meursault appellation, located in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. Château de Meursault, a historic estate with a legacy stretching back to the 11th century, is renowned for its dedication to crafting wines that express the unique terroirs of Burgundy. The Perrières vineyard, celebrated for its exceptional quality, produces wines of remarkable finesse, minerality, and aging potential.
The "Perrières" name derives from the French word for stones, reflecting the vineyard’s limestone-rich soils, which lend the wine its signature mineral character. Situated on the upper slopes of Meursault, the vineyard benefits from excellent drainage and a south-eastern exposure, ensuring optimal ripening and preserving the grape's natural acidity.
Under the stewardship of Stéphane Follin-Arbelet, the winemaking at Château de Meursault focuses on precision and tradition. Grapes are hand-harvested at peak ripeness, carefully sorted, and gently pressed. The juice is fermented in French oak barrels, with 30-40% new oak, and aged on fine lees for 12-18 months. This meticulous approach enhances the wine's complexity while preserving its purity and elegance.

Unique magnitude and length on the palate. On the palate, it is full-bodied and precise, with a creamy texture balanced by vibrant acidity. The finish is long and refined, showcasing the vineyard’s hallmark elegance. This Premier Cru is an excellent match for seared scallops, lobster thermidor, or a rich cheese soufflé.
