Description

Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Piedmont, Italy, the Giacosa Fratelli winery has proudly graced the viticultural scene for over a century. In the dynamic 1990s, Maurizio and Paolo assumed the reins, steering the estate to produce some of the Langhe's most exquisite wines across its expansive 50 hectares of vineyards. With naturalness and quality as their guiding principles, this family legacy thrives.

From the coveted Bussia area in Monforte d'Alba, the Barolo Bussia emerges as a masterpiece. The unique harmony of clayey and calcareous soils imparts distinctive aromas to the grapes. Handpicked fully ripe grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation, followed by a meticulous three-year aging process in wooden barrels. In each sip, the Giacosa Fratelli wines reveal not just a century-old legacy, but an ongoing commitment to excellence and authenticity.

"It comes from the vineyards of the Bussia sub-zone in Monforte d'Alba. Here a particular terroir, and the good temperature range due to the altitude, favour the birth of wines characterised by particular fruity notes. Barolo Bussia DOCG by Giacosa Fratelli is the result of a non-invasive vinification process, which includes a long maceration of the skins and a long aging in oak barrels of 30 and 60 hectoliters. The result is a wine characterised by a beautiful ruby red colour which, with ageing, turns decisively towards garnet. The nose is ample and persistent. Floral, with hints of roses, and complex, recalling notes of leather and tar (tar). In the mouth it is dry and full-bodied. Harmonious and velvety. An excellent wine to serve when the menu includes mainly red meat dishes or with game. Also perfect in combination with medium-aged cheeses."
