Description

Godelia emerges from a unique combination of venerable schist-soiled mountain vines and maturing vines on clay hill-slopes in the heart of the valley. Initially entrusted to a Catalan winemaker, these vines, ranging from 20+ years to some magnificent 90-year-old bush vines in the mountains, were brought in from outside to transcend local complacency and reform viticultural habits prevalent in the region.

With a focus on freshness and elegance, Viernes, epitomizing Bierzo's Mencia, boasts atypically great natural acidity harmonizing with fine, plush tannins. Anticipate a tapestry of red fruit, blue florals, and dark cooking spices, culminating in a brilliant finish marked by sour cherry, purple fruits, and a delightful agrodulce vibration—an ode to the vibrant spirit of top-tier Mencia.
