Lindemans is an important Australian wine name with a long history of pioneering and innovation. The estate was founded in 1843 by Dr. Henry J Lindeman who planted his first vineyard in the Hunter Valley. Over the years, the brand has acquired vineyards in the Hunter Valley, Victoria and South Australia allowing for significant growth and expansion. Now part of the Treasury Wine Estate’s portfolio, Lindemans is best known for its series of highly popular Bin Series commercial wines, however it also produces a range of premium age-worthy wines including the Limestone Ridge Shiraz Cabernet.
Glorious. Simply glorious… floral and elegant, with wonderful aromatics. It has the exotic spice notes and rich old tobacco but the florals are what stand out. Extremely complex and completely seamless. Very fine tannins… velvety. A wine that lingers beautifully. So long and delightfully ethereal. Just the slightest flick of acidity on the finish. Perfect structure. What a stunning, brilliant, thrilling wine.
Strong dark colour and equally strong aromatics. Dark fruit, chocolate, licorice and clean earth. Amazing smelling wine. On the palate ripe chocolate and licorice fruit with earthy flavours. So much flavour and vigour. Rich meltingly smooth texture but no shortage of tannin either. Very long. The tannins became more prominent with extended airing. A great bottle of a great wine.
