Maison Louis Jadot, custodian of over 150 hectares of Burgundian vineyards, including 70 hectares in the esteemed Côte d’Or, boasts a portfolio comprising Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot, Domaine Louis Jadot, Domaine Gagey, and Domaine du Duc de Magenta. Founded in 1859 by Louis Henri Denis Jadot, the House underwent significant expansion, with subsequent generations contributing to its development until the pivotal sale to Rudi Kopf’s Kobrand in 1985. This infusion of capital facilitated substantial investments, notably in vineyard acquisitions such as Chateau des Jacques in Beaujolais and the renowned Cadus Tonnellerie.
President Pierre-Henri Gagey, who assumed the role in 1992, succeeded his father André Gagey, while the lineage continues with Thibault Gagey as Deputy General Manager. In January 2013, Frederic Bernier assumed the position of Chief Winemaker, succeeding the esteemed Jacques Lardiere, who now oversees the Jadot Oregon project, Resonance Vineyard.
Clear mid yellow. So much energy here too. An impressively racy quality with plenty of weight, very Charmes in character, strong fruit, and then a crunch of acidity. A little saline touch yet also some of the more exotic side. Drink from 2026-2033.
A wonderfully mineral, sleek and focused Meursault with aromas of lemons, white pears, apricots, flint and some white pepper. Medium- to full-bodied, creamy but so bright, with chalky minerality coming through. Drink or hold.
