BEST SPARKLING ROSÉ – 2022 HALLIDAY AWARDS
Made from 100% Tasmanian Pinot Noir, this is delicate pink with salmon blush and super fine bubbles. The aromas are a meld of strawberry, marzipan, Turkish delight and buttery pastry. While the flavours are subtle, there is a delicious roundness in the mouth set against a fine tannin finish with the barest touch of bitter orange pith.
A true execution of talent, masterfully articulating the concentration, character and energy of a powerful vintage. Piper’s River pinot noir (100%) declares a dramatic contrast between great depth and the scaffolded frame of acid, phenolic structure and barrel fermentation (6yo oak). The cold winds of Bass Strait whip up energetic structure that holds its drama through a long finish, never for a moment dipping its determined gaze.
Pipers River pinot noir from four rows of vines, fermented in eight-year-old barrels with 100% mlf. Early picked for the aromatic purity it provides, and it really shows. A beautiful salmon hue with a fine energetic bead and mousse, stunning aromatics of redcurrant, wild strawberries, red apple and raspberry with notes of mushroom broth, fresh pastry, crushed river stone and light creamy notes. Super savoury and pure, gentle tannin texture from the barrel ferment and a long, harmonious finish. Gorgeous drinking.
