Our wines come from two vineyards, Cerbaia and Bruciate on the characteristic Tuscan galestro. The vineyards are surrounded by Mediterranean scrub and grow in poor, well-structured soils with chalky soil: greyish clayey earth and clayey rock (Miocene), a soil formed by a mixture of sand and limestone; the vineyards are located at an altitude of 350 meters above sea level, facing north-west, with a warm and dry microclimate, attenuated by gentle breezes, which also guarantee more healthiness for vines and grapes.
The quality of Brunello di Montalcino Cerbaia derives from the vineyard: a meticulous manual work, from dry pruning to the selection of the most suitable offshoots, from the containment of the vegetation to the trimming of the best bunches.
Processes that lead to the selection of the best fruits and with a second selection at the harvest, only the perfect grapes are sent to the cellar. With this agricultural care, which includes several thinning of the grapes and light pruning of the leaves, the grapes receive more light and air, and give a limited production of healthy and ripe grapes to the right point to produce a high quality Brunello for finesse, harmony and perfume
So floral and fresh with rose stem, sandalwood and orange blossom. Cherries, too. Full-bodied yet reserved and held back with creamy fine tannins and a beautiful finish. Shows brightness and finesse. Silky texture. One of the best I have had from here. A Brunello that emphasizes purity of fruit. Give this three to four years more. Try after 2026.
