Vintages

2010

Description

Nestled among Montosoli's loftiest peaks, the Cerbaia vineyard gracefully rises above the misty veil, shielding itself from autumnal fog and spring frosts. The rocky soils, characteristic of this elevated realm in Montalcino, impart a comforting warmth that extends the maturation period, resulting in the creation of aromatic and intricately flavoured fruits.

Cerbaia's commitment to organic farming, judicious green harvesting, and a delicate touch in the cellar meticulously preserve the site's inherent character.

Review

2010 was one of the greatest vintages that has blessed this exciting region, and the wines will be drunk, discussed and enjoyed for many years. A thrill to have the chance to sample such a gem. Dark maroon, this is already exhibiting serious complexity with dry herbs, dark cherries, truffles, leather and red fruits. There is richness on the palate with power, concentration and real length. Notes of florals, red fruits and coffee beans emerge. Wonderful wine, just starting on its journey. This has twenty years, if you have the patience.
