Description

The Barolo Brunate DOCG from Ceretto embodies an exquisite fusion of winemaking excellence, Piedmontese heritage, and sophistication. This globally renowned Piedmontese red wine holds the esteemed designation of controlled and guaranteed origin. Its production hub resides within the confines of La Morra, from vine cultivation to the crafting of Barolo Brunate, exclusively fashioned from 100% Nebbiolo grapes.

The Brunate vineyard stands as a symbol of La Morra, a revered toponym within the denomination. Stretching across both La Morra and Barolo municipalities, this inter-municipal vineyard spans 28 hectares, gracefully ascending from La Morra to Barolo. Its terroir boasts remarkable uniformity in terms of exposure, facing South/South-East, with altitudes ranging from 230 to over 400 meters above sea level.

The soils, hailing from the Tortonian era, are marked by marl with sandy characteristics, particularly evident at the hill's highest point. Within the Ceretto family's viticultural domain, a parcel measuring just over 5.5 hectares is dedicated exclusively to crafting this extraordinary wine, Barolo Brunate.

Review

Sweet red fruit on the nose and palate, together with a sandy mineral note. Medium to full-bodied with very fine, lightly firm tannins and a clean, focused finish. More delicate character in 2018.
