Crafted by the skilled winemakers Hunter and Elizabeth Smith, this Cabernet Franc originates from their prized Isolation Ridge vineyard, where grapes are meticulously sourced for this limited production, small batch wine.
Nestled in the organically-farmed Isolation Ridge vineyard, the gravelly soils work their magic, accentuating the essence of Bordeaux varieties like Cabernet Franc. This terroir imparts a signature minerality and savory quality to the wine, beautifully complemented by abundant plush fruit notes.
At Frankland Estate, renowned for their wines bridging the gap between old-world charm and new-world innovation, this Cabernet Franc stands as a testament to their commitment to quality and tradition.
Following ten months of aging in venerable 500L oak casks, the wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined, ensuring every sip embodies the purest expression of the vineyard's bounty.
Wonderful rosy perfume, dried cranberry, redcurrant, chocolate and spice, a slight gum leafiness. Medium-bodied, gravelly tannin, some dried herb and subtle earthiness, fine brick dust tannin, freshness in with the sweet red fruits, and a long firm finish, black olive in the aftertaste. A wonderful expression of Franc.
