Compelling aroma. Took me in. Sanguine, cherry, rose petal, dried herbs, choc-liqourice. Powerful, concentrated palate, feels big, muscular, rippling on waves of dark berry fruits and smoky fog of tannins. Dense wine, assertive and strong. Sweeter fruit met by thunk of pulverised rock pucker. Stand back a while.

Castiglione Falletto. Tasted blind. Mid ruby. Spicy, dark and brooding, with a hint of sweet liquorice. Monolithic, backward palate still very tight and closed. This really is a sleeping giant. Great balance. Muscular but polished tannins structuring the whole. Patience needed.
