Description

The aroma of the Bouchard Père & Fils Chevalier-Montrachet 'La Cabotte' Grand Cru Magnum 1.5L 2016 is deeply concentrated, making it difficult to discern any specific scents. However, the wine boasts a refreshing quality with a lively and assertive taste that is both dense and serious. The flavours are imposingly-scaled and display significant muscle and minerality on the commanding finish that delivers an exceptional length. While each vintage of La Cabotte has a distinct personality, the 2016 vintage resembles Montrachet the most.

It's worth noting that the wine is bottled in a magnum size, which holds 1.5 litres of wine, double the standard wine bottle. This size is ideal for long-term storage as it provides less oxygen-to-wine ratio, making it less susceptible to spoilage. Additionally, the magnum size often results in slower aging, allowing the wine to develop its full flavour potential over an extended period. The magnum bottle also has a striking appearance that adds a touch of grandeur and luxury to any wine collection or gathering. Despite its potential to age for many years, the Bouchard Père & Fils Chevalier-Montrachet 'La Cabotte' Grand Cru Magnum 1.5L 2016 is so well-balanced and has such a rich mid-palate that it can be enjoyed after just five years of aging.
