The lieu-dit Les Beaux Monts lies northwest of the village of Vosne-Romanée, on the slope, at the mouth of the Combe Brûlée valley, where the slope is steep (10%). The plot ranges in altitude from 277 to 289 meters. The lieu-dit faces east-southeast. The reddish-brown soil contains many light-colored limestone fragments, with chert nodules (chailles). The substratum underlying Les Beaux Monts is Premeaux limestone.
